Abstract

The author argues that child and adolescent psychiatry programs have failed to stimulate and motivate young trainees for a career in child psychiatric research. He recommends that child and adolescent psychiatry programs appoint active investigators to head up specialty divisions and engage in joint recruitment with other disciplines to enhance research training.
