“I’m on my way.”

“Can I come? It’s my first,” I begged.

Staring as we entered the room, her family surrounded her tearfully, wanting answers, wanting closure.

“Pupils fixed, no heart sounds.”

“Just ignore them, it’s easier this way,” he muttered to me.
